Welcome to my miniature world! Its not very big so you may have to duck a bit. It's all about Wargaming , with a bit of history here and there. I have been playing wargames since I discovered Donald Featherstones "wargames" in the local library when I was a nipper of nine tender years. That was just about 50 years ago and I have never really stopped. My hobby has helped to get me through some tough times, and has helped make good times more enjoyable. It provides me with meditation, relaxation, satisfaction and is an outlet for creative energy and an escape from the mundane and less than fantastic reality that is Real Life.
I started with soft plastic Airfix figures and Humbrol enamel paint. I never had any decent brushes so I would sharpen matches to fine points and use them. I discovered Tolkien when I was 11, Robert E Howard, shortly after, and I was soon converting my Airfix figures to suit my new fantasy armies. Drawing pins for shields sewing needles for spears, cocktail, sticks became stockades, chewing gum wrappers became standards.
I can still recall some of those games. The child in me has not dissipated with the passing of years and I get the same enjoyment from this marvelous hobby as I always have. On line I am Wilgut Spleens, I hope you enjoy my miniature world, you are welcome to stay as long as you like
