The Second Round

Where is Boromir? V Mordororx

The scenario is rolled for “Claim the Treasure”

6 objects, the treasure, are placed at regular intervals across the board. The company with the most at the end of play wins the game.

The game ends when one side is reduced to 25%

I roll up the terrain one quadrant at a time.

Each company gathers three objects, they all meet in the centre of the table in a mass melee. The Orcs win almost every duel for three turns but are unable to injure their heavily armoured foe. The unfortunate orcs could not roll above a three!

The orcs push back their opponents in almost every duel, but seem unable to cause any wounds.

Shagrat proved a capable stand in after Madgash was cut down. He gained Hero slayer after the battle, Madgash gained one extra might

A fairly(unfairly) easy victory for the Men of the West. Their thick armour,and orcish blunt weapons, helped them to a win

Justice for Eomer v The White Finger

This game looked like being the “play off for third place”. Both companies have taken a beating and are only able to muster 5 combatants each.

 

The Uruks decide on a flanking manoeuvre and split up. The Rohirrim prefer to stay in one band. 

The objects are swiftly gathered up by both sides

With Dernmund providing archery from a hill to their rear the Rohirrim stick together and wait for the assault

Ogzul completes his flanking movement,runs up the hill and quickly dispatches Dernmund.

Baldor wounds Nurbag and takes the object that he  was carrying, Vargan injures Grimmund.

This did not end well for Baldor

This was only going one way!

Theowulf is cut down by Gargul, Eodan is taken out by Gorluk.

Victory for the Finger. 

Nurbog dies from his wounds.

The Rohirrim acquire another archer-Eodred.

Vargan chooses the path of the warrior +1 attack, Ozgul gains a shield
